Vicuña is a city in the Coquimbo region of Chile, located in the Elqui Valley.
Known for its production of pisco and wine, as well as for its proximity to the Tololo Observatory and the Gemini Observatory.
The city is an ideal place to practice astronomical tourism and visit its beautiful natural landscapes such as the Elqui River, the Puclaro reservoir and the nearby valleys.
It is also the hometown of the Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral, whose museum and monument are located in the city.
