Coihaique is the capital of the Aysén region, in southern Chile.
It is a city surrounded by mountains and glaciers, which offers a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing, kayaking and skiing.
The city has a central square and a cathedral dating from the 20th century.
In addition, it is the starting point to explore the Queulat and Laguna San Rafael national parks, and General Carrera Lake.
Coihaique is also known for its sheep wool crafts and its annual cultural festivals.
