Putre is a small town located in the region of Arica and Parinacota, in northern Chile, at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level.
It is a place known for its rich pre-Columbian history and for being the entrance to the Lauca National Reserve.
Putre's architecture is characterized by its colonial churches and its adobe houses with tile roofs. The local economy is based on agriculture, tourism and mineral exploitation.
